Behind the Scenes - Love Culture Goes Back to School

Love Culture - Back to School Campaign

Love Culture hired me back for their Back to School campaign hitting stores near you, and currently available online.  This time instead of hiring me as their stylist, I came on to be their creative director and production manager.  I had a great time shooting all over the UC-Irvine campus and working with the amazing team again.  Couldn’t have done it without them!

Special thanks to: Chase Kim, David Nguyen, Jacqueline Nguyen, Anthony Nguyen (the Nguyen’s were all non-related, hah), Tony Vin, Photogenics, and Ford Models.

Today I went shopping with my bestie at Topanga mall in search for THE perfect birthday dress. Ran into the Love Culture store there, and saw the latest marketing and ad campaign posters plastered all over the store for the first time!

I walked around the store with the cheesiest grin, and was so proud for the blood, sweat and tears (of joy) our team had accomplished for this shoot.  Note to self: Would love to have a poster to hang somewhere in the house. Definitely need to ask corporate if I can take a piece home after the season’s over.

A closer look of today’s outfit - color block.  I bought my canary yellow top at my favorite Goodwill store, and the cute bow fuschia skirt is from a designer that restores vintage pieces.

Just because it’s gloomy, it does not take away the season!  It’s still summer, people!  I hate it when I see people bust out their trenches and UGG boots (as I saw today) just because there a slight overcast.  Anyhow, to explain my mix-matched shoe, I was shoe-shopping…

Close-up of my Isabel Toledo’s for Payless.

Also received my first gel and rockstar manicure from the bestie of Chi Nail Bar & Spa in Beverly Hills.  They’re suppose to last for two weeks; I can’t stop looking at them!  If you haven’t been to this salon, you are missing out! It sits right by Rodeo Drive so you can conveniently shop (or like me, window shop) after.  Paris Hilton, Kelly Rowland are among many of the stars that go to the salon as well!  Super jealous that the bestie gets to work on their manicure (even though I’m a stylist) I still get starstruck.

I apologize for the mobile pics; did not have my camera on me!

LoveCulture - Summer Campaign - Teenage Dream

Another one of my favorite sections I styled for Love Culture’s summer campaign.  Blondes do have all the fun!

LoveCulture - Summer Campaign - Americana

Loving a simple prop like our national flag to pop a shoot.  Love Culture’s “Americana” campaign is out now!

LoveCulture - Summer Campaign - Summer Breeze

This is probably my favorite series from the entire summer Love Culture campaign.  If it was an editorial shoot, I would have had the models go “bandeau-less” but we just had to keep it PG since it’s all over their stores, ha.

I’m so excited to present to you the Love Culture Summer 2011 campaign video compiled by Matt Rodgers.

Style, production and creative direction by yours truly.

LoveCulture - Summer Campaign - Land from Down Under

A few weeks ago, my team and I underwent a huge campaign for nationwide women’s clothing store, Love Culture.  Aside from prepping 70 looks for the shoot, I also played the role of Creative Director and Production Manager - something I’ve been switching more to lately.

From these 70 looks we categorized with Love Culture’s corporate visuals and marketing managers - into 10 categories and themes for the summer.  Here’s the first of the 10 released on their site and stores now - Land from Down Under.  After the hectic yet promising day, I was extremely happy and satisfied with everyone’s never-ending efforts and accomplishments.  I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the team.

My stylists, assistants, and who’s stuck with me since the beginning of this project: Jacqueline Nguyen and Julianne Hoang.

Photographer: David Nguyen, Hair: Tony Vin, Makeup: Anthony Nguyen, Models from Photogenics and Ford Models, Chase Kim, Chris, Matt, Annie, Jeff, Kurt - Thank you!

Love Culture is a women’s fashion forward clothing company with 25 more stores opening nationwide.  It’s a company branded on the latest trends budget friendly to any female consumer.

I am super excited to be a part of their creative marketing team and styled their latest nationwide campaign hitting stores in the next month.  Here’s a behind the scenes look shot at a breathtaking Bel-Air mansion in Los Angeles, CA.

Stylist Tip: I picked up these jewelry trays at Marshall’s for only $10 each.  It’s a great way to organize and display jewelry at photoshoots.
