    Army Green + Army Green = ?

If you can wear all black, can you wear all green or any other color as well?  YES!

To wear the same colors, the trick is to wear different textures or fabrics to avoid looking like you’re wearing a personally tailored suit.

The chilly LA air calls for comfy, casual and chic.   So on this Friday morning I slipped on my Express army green lycra cargos, H&M army green cotton shirt and broke the colors up by throwing on a simple black thrifted knit sweater and Zara pumps.  My multi-chain necklace was a $10 score from Loehmann’s and adds a final touch of effort on this “effortless” outfit.

On another note, my hair has been growing like weeds.  I’m so excited to get my hair cut over the weekend before my big shoots!

I finally got to utilize my thrifted rabbit fur stole I found at my favorite Goodwill store for only $40!!!  I saw this beautiful creature and just HAD to get it.

Dress and clutch by H&M, shoes Nine West.

    Ideal for teal.

Today I’m wearing H&M black & white turtleneck, Bebe pencil skirt with a middle slit, Urban Outfitters heels and thrifted short sleeve teal jacket I found for only $1!!! I think the bold teal with contrast black piping detail won me over.

It’s a chilly day so I opted to layer by wearing a fitted turtleneck under my cheap jacket.  What I love about my turtle neck is that it had contrasted white sleeves with a black body.  It makes you wonder what layers are going on underneath!

    Weekend Outfit 9.3.11 - Lace-z Faire

I found this delicate coral lace dress at a small boutique and paired it up with layered turquoise accessories. It’s the perfect dress to bid adieu to a wonderful summer and welcome Fall, my favorite season. I love the sheer flared sleeves and the scalloped hem of this dress - the little details definitely enhanced the $20 price tag.

My outfit: Last April dress, ASOS lucite chunky heeled pumps and hat, and jewelry from vintage, H&M and Forever 21.

It’s Labor Day weekend! So have fun and safe travels Here are some other lace inspirations for your extended weekend:

I never like to pay full retail price on a piece of clothing since I probably would wear it only a few times before being completely over it.  I am a hunter when it comes to shopping and look for quality pieces at a bargain.  Today’s outfit was just the case: Zara blush denim shorts for $20, H&M lace top for $5, hat for $17 and my thrifted Nordstrom brand suede flats for $8 were an exceptional choice for a brilliant California summer day.

The weather has been pretty sporadic in LA lately.  Apocalyptic clouds in the morning to a smoldering degree of when your skin ‘glistens and stays sticky vs sweating heat.’  This is the perfect occasion for those rice oil-blotting papers.  As much as we try not to wear black during the summer, this unpredictable weather made me bust out my moto-leggings and comfy jersey tank.  I lightened it up with my sheer boyfriend woven.  This week has been kindly productive.  I’m in pre-production for LoveCulture's Back to School campaign, launching the new Zooey Magazine featuring a One Tree Hill starlet and tons more!

Spent Memorial Day yesterday soaking up some sun in Manhattan Beach.  The weather was absolutely perfect / just the perfect amount of sunshine, warmth and ocean breeze. Swimsuit: H&M ($3 a piece bought back in January); Hat: Forever21; Crochet Dress: thrifted at Goodwill for $5.99; Wedges: Nine West.

A-Frame Restaurant - From the recipes of the Kogi Truck founder, A-Frame is an eclectic Asian Fusion escape nestled in Culver City.  Each dish has a unique blend and just scrumptious.  The must try is the “chicken and cornbread” dish and also the “knuckle sandwich” if you’re into ox tail and other parts.

Sakae Sushi - Found it via Yelp, whose reviewers gave it a 4.5/5 stars rating! This 16 pieces set was only $12.  Definitely worth a try.

Angels Piano Bar & Supper Lounge in Santa Monica is a low-lit place that takes you back to the 30s and 40s.  Their jazz ambiance and signature mixed cocktails topped with the live band is definitely worth a stop for a date or small group of friends.  Overall, it was a great setting to bid adieu to my friend Ny as she starts a newfound life in another country.  I wish her all the best!
